There are a host of cheap universities in Kuwait. Fees at the American University of Kuwait start from KWD 200 per credit hour. The cost at Kuwait College of Science and Technology is the same. At Kuwait University, they start from KWD400 per credit hour.

Other reports suggest that the tuition fees in most universities in Kuwait costs nearly $ 6500 up to $7500 annually.

Living in Kuwait

Kuwait is one of the high-cost countries for living, but the universities provide student housing at affordable prices that suit the student. If he wants to live in an apartment that has one bedroom, the cost will reach 900 dollars per month. As for goods and foodstuffs, the locally made are cheap.

Imported goods are very expensive, and despite the high cost of living in them, they are less expensive than other Gulf countries, as the cost of living in Qatar and the Emirates is higher than them.

In Kuwait, students can expect to pay between 180KWD and 540 KWD, depending on the location. In case students choose to stay in city center the renting cost is high whereas, outside city center has lesser rent. Like other countries around the world, rent varies as per facilities, and the type of housing- one bedroom or three bedroom apartment wherein students would like to reside.

Student Visa - Kuwait

Kuwait has laid out several requirements for a student visa in Kuwait, including: 

  • A valid passport with a minimum of two (2) years prior to expiration date
  • A completed current visa application form as issued by Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • A passport-size photo
  • HIV test (AIDS test)
  • A Health Certificate: it should be obtained from the local doctor certifying that the patient is in good health and free from contagious diseases
  • Lab test results for the following: Hepatitis B & C, Malaria, Filariasis, Syphilis and Chest X-Ray for Tuberculosis.
  • No Criminal Record: Obtained from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), valid within three months of the issuance date of the Permit. The “No Criminal Record” has to be certified first by the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C., then legalized by the Embassy with a $25.00 Authentication fee
  • A  Student Permit

  • A copy of the equivalency certificate from the Special Education Department for foreign high school students
  • A copy of the syllabus
  • ninth grade certificate

  • A copy of the parent’s civil ID
    A copy of the To Whom It May Concern Certificate from the guardian’s workplace

 

Scholarship in Kuwait

Scholarships in the country are available to Study Full-time Undergraduate, Masters, and PhD Degree Programs from the Kuwait Universities. The Kuwaiti Government Scholarships by the Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education are also open for application for the 2022-2023 batch.

There are several kinds of scholarships in Kuwait: Kuwaiti government scholarship, Berrows International Scholarship Program and Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) Scholarships. All those programs encompass Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees.
